Do I need to order a set amount of meals?

No. The Food Shed is a flexible service; the number of meals ordered can change depending on what days are required that week or which meals sound more appealing. The service can be accessed short term e.g. for a week or two after coming out of hospital, or long term depending on the need.

What time are meals delivered?

Meals are delivered roughly between 11.45am – 2.15pm. If customers would like to order a tea time snack for later in the day, these are delivered with the hot meal at lunch time and put in the customer’s fridge for later that day.

How can I pay for meals?

The Food Shed prefer clients to pay for meals via Direct Debit every two weeks in arrears. Clients can also pay by cheque or cash at the beginning of the week for meals ordered for the week.

How much notice do you need to order/cancel meals?

We need to know before 12pm the day before for any new orders or existing orders to be cancelled without charge. Unfortunately, any orders cancelled after 12pm the day before will still be charged.

How are the meals delivered?

Our freshly cooked meals are delivered chilled, in a suitable container. On delivery, the driver can plate up the meal for the customer, warm appropriately and ensure they have a fresh cold drink to hand.

What areas do you cover?

The Food Shed currently covers the whole of Bridgend County, Port Talbot, Swansea and the Vale of Glamorgan. Areas within Neath currently include Skewen, Neath Abbey, Neath town centre, Tonna, Cimla, Llandarcy and Briton Ferry.

Who are your delivery staff?

Our friendly, helpful delivery staff have experience in supporting individuals within the community. All our delivery staff have a cleared Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS police) check to ensure they have no convictions around working with vulnerable adults within the community.

How can you access the property?

If a customer is unable to open the door, we can access the property via a keysafe if available. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold keys to a customer’s property.

Why is there two different prices for your main meals and puddings?

Our daily delivery option is £5.00, but after feedback from some customers who wanted the meals but not to be tied to daily delivery, we have introduced a bulk delivery three times a week. The bulk delivery meal will deliver two or three freshly cooked meals together. All meals will include full heating instructions and will be slightly cheaper at £4.50.
